Works great as a chair Feb 05, 2010
By Rebecca Banks I use this fitness ball as a chair, I'm 5'5" and at its maximum size it works great. Note that fitness balls need to be inflated used for a bit then inflated again, and repeat. About the third time I find that they finally hit their maximum size and offer the firmest stability as a chair.

Best exercise ball? Jan 05, 2011
By Alan Ebi I recently ordered the 45 cm Natural Fitness exercise ball through Amazon Natural Fitness 45cm Professional Burst-Resistant (Flame) The ball had with it a usable pump and a tape to measure the finished diameter of the balls (i.e., 45, 55, and 65 cm) and a useful inflation plug extractor and extra plugs. It is a heavier ball than my ProSpirit ProSpirit® Fitness Ball - Plum (55 cm.). It is more suited to some exercises.* The 55 cm ball is right for most of my exercises. When I sit on it my thighs are parallel to the floor and my lower legs form right angles to the thighs. Taller people might want a 65 or 75 cm ball. If the stronger, heavier ball is important to you, consider the Natural Fitness balls. The Natural Fitness pump will probably be OK if you have full use of both hands, otherwise you might prefer a bicycle pump with tools for inflating other things. I used the supplied pump to start with with the ball on my lap--it is fast--and then shifted to the floor with the bike pump as the ball was filled. The air isn't under high pressure when you remove the pump to insert the plug. I doesn't rush out at once, but have the plug in hand. (I wonder if the burst balls mentioned in the reviews weren't weakened by overinflation?) *For example, I use the 45 cm ball between my upper back and wall, feet slightly forward, to do a rolling semi-squat. I feel I have more control with the 45 cm ball than with the 55 cm ball.

Just the right size Jul 31, 2009
By MJR I bought this fitness ball to replace the 60cm one my nephew popped. I wanted something smaller that could be stored easier. This seemed like the best option. I use the ball primarily to stretch my back after an 8 hour day writting software. So far it has held up to my weight plus the weight of my 3 year old nephew jumping on me. Feels very solid. The air pump thqat came with it is worthless. You have to pump it very fast so that no air is released when the ball gets near to being full. Use a bicycle pump or something else. I'm going to pick one up for a friend. Would buy again.
